Hey there! I’m Whitney Bee, a Baton Rouge native with a heart for home, a love of gardens, and a growing collection of slow, simple joys.

As a kid, I dreamed of becoming a vet. That love for animals never left, but life led me down a winding path that’s been just as full of heart. I studied fashion merchandising at Southeastern Louisiana University and spent my early years working in cosmetic sales, education, and management — where I discovered a joy in helping others feel like the best version of themselves.

After college, I moved out of state for a bit, but I quickly realized how much I missed the Souths charm, warmth, and flavors. I landed a job I absolutely loved in the beauty industry… and then, like life often does, things shifted. That season of change led me back to a safe and familiar place — and eventually, out into the world. I traveled to Kenya, Peru, and Brazil, and those experiences gave me a broader perspective on life, creativity, and what truly matters.

Along the way, I read The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron, and everything changed. I began peeling back the layers of who I thought I should be and started reconnecting with who I actually am. That’s when things really started to bloom.

I got my real estate license, and after a year and a half, I took the leap into full-time entrepreneurship. It wasn’t always easy, but it taught me resilience, confidence, and how to have honest conversations with kindness and clarity. I realized I didn’t want to follow the traditional path of residential real estate.I wanted to create something more niche, more me.

So, I got my Landscape Horticulturist License and created HORT & HOME Co. This is my home and garden company focused connection, intention, and transformation. I also launched GREEN-ish, a personal blog where I share the messy, real, and lovely parts of living a more grounded, eco-conscious life (without the pressure to be perfect). Now, I’m documenting it all on my YouTube channel, LemonBird Gardens, as I slowly transform my backyard into a peaceful space for wildlife, creativity, and joy.

I’m in love with this version of myself — and that’s not up for negotiation.

As far as dreams, just a 25-city garden tour to explore the most beautiful botanical and national gardens across the country. Until then, you’ll find me in my backyard with Moe my Schnoodle, and Ollie my curious bunny!
